Before putting the dispensary timekeeping software on the tablets, my business was losing cash, but people could write in their times and I was seeing there were fewer people on shifts than were penciled in for those times… This was happening in the morning and the afternoon, but i could not debate with the employees if they were actually toiling, because I wasn’t in the dispensary all the time.
I had floor directors, however they were also toiling.
I knew there had to be an easier way to track the employees’ time, other than trusting them to sign in and out on the sheet in the office, when I was introduced to dispensary timekeeping software, my task got easier. There were no sign-in sheets, and all the people was responsible for themselves. I called a meeting and told all the people about the dispensary timekeeping software and said this was no longer the honor system. I would go strictly by the hours that were in the dispensary timekeeping software, and nothing more. The directors weren’t privy to the password to that system, so they couldnn’t change the times for the employees. If you wanted paid, you needed to use the dispensary timekeeping software. If you didn’t want to use the dispensary timekeeping software, you didn’t want a task. I knew the employees didn’t like the up-to-date rules about timekeeping, however I had to do something. I was losing cash, and would need to sit people off if they didn’t follow the program. When they learn to take responsibility, I will slack off a bit, however not until then.
