I was the one laughing now
My uncle is the type of guy who is constantly looking for a quick buck. If he can make a lot of currency and do entirely little to do it, he is cheerful. Last year, he was helping with the census, and kept telling us he went to a couple of houses, and called the rest. He made almost $1000. I didn’t guess him, however if it made him cheerful to tell us that, I would not say a word. It was none of my business. Last week, he was at our house. He told dad he was suing the government, and the people who manufactured the medical marijuana he was using. He had been using medical marijuana for almost a year, and he was now impotent. My father laughed. He told uncle he knew for a fact he had been using marijuana for decades before the thought of legalizing it for medical reasons was even a notion, let alone being a law. Uncle was sputtering when dad told him this. He said he would have done nothing illegal. He looked at me and then back at dad. In a false whisper, he told dad he should never talk like this in front of the kid. I was the one laughing now. I was almost twenty-five and home on leave from the Navy. Uncle was trying to stop us both from laughing, and said he had never had a complication until he started using medical marijuana! Dad told him he was just lucky enough to have observed no problems until recently. Uncle was so aggravated that he got up and walked out of the house; although he hadn’t yet asked what was for lunch.
