I worked at a cannabis dispensary for almost a year, and I was enjoying the job.
When my brother came home from college, he and I were alone when mom was working.
One afternoon, he kept looking at me. I asked if there was something wrong. He told me he was looking to see if I was high. I didn’t use drugs, so I couldn’t figure out what he was talking about? He asked if I still worked at the cannabis dispensary. I nodded, and he looked skeptical. He thought everyone who worked at the cannabis dispensary had to be a user of either medical or recreational marijuana. I assured him I was not a user of either. I enjoyed my job, and I got to meet new people. He laughed and said they were all potheads. I made a face and walked away. He was now inquisitive about my job. He wanted to know how many marijuana products are in the cannabis dispensary. I never took inventory, so I didn’t know. He didn’t believe I had worked at the cannabis dispensary, and not only didn’t I use marijuana, but I didn’t know how many marijuana products they carried. I told him they were all marijuana products, because cannabis and marijuana were synonymous. Since I couldn’t get a job right out of college, I took this one and found out I enjoyed the work. Next month, they were going to give me the job of chief pharmacist at the cannabis dispensary, and I would get a raise. He looked impressed, but he still couldn’t believe I was working at a cannabis dispensary but not using the stuff.
