I live near an Indian reservation.
They kind of have their own laws there. They aren’t subjected to taxes and they have their own police force. Now my state is technically a medical cannabis only state. Recreational weed isn’t allowed. The reservation has three dispensaries on it now. They are selling to the public currently. My whole family seems to think that suddenly recreational cannabis has come to our state. My dad in particular is convinced. He always says he can buy weed right in town for his anxiety. I hate to rain on his parade, but you can only get it on the reservation. What they are technically doing is illegal, but their police won’t charge them. It brings so much money into their community as well. Why would they change to follow the law? It is kind of nice that recreational weed can be obtained as well. My father would no way go to the doctor to get a medical weed card. He needs help with anxiety though. So he can easily grab some oil and a vape to help his issues when it gets bad. My mother has bought an oil that hse puts in her tea. It has helped with her menopausal symptoms and assists her in sleeping at night. I hate to support a business operating illegally but I have bought. I needed a topical for pain after I got into a car accident. So while I am bitter they aren’t following the law, it really is helpful that we have access to legal cannabis.
