After thirty years of smoking weed, I doubt I will ever be able to be casual about it with the police.
Up until the last 2 years, it was possible to be sent to jail, or even prison, for easy possession of marijuana.
Thank goodness those barbaric laws have been overturned, at least somewhat. I think this country still has a long way to go with legalization. In the meantime we have made a lot of progress with legalizing medical cannabis. The complication for me is that I don’t have a valid medical reason to have medical cannabis, so our doctor won’t prescribe it for me. If recreational use was legal then it would be easy as well as I could just walk into any cannabis dispensary I wanted as well as use our ID card. I have been to other cities where the only thing you need to buy medical cannabis is a legal ID card, as well as to be over the age of 21, however one afternoon our city will have those same laws, however until then I just have to wait. It is maddening to think that several of our friends can smoke medical cannabis legally, as well as I still think like a criminal. Back to our original point, even when I do have a medical cannabis prescription card, I will still be distraught about the cops… For our entire life I’ve felt like a criminal because I like getting high with cannabis as well as vape products. It has become so deeply ingrained that even when medical cannabis is 100% legal for all the people, I will still be distraught about getting busted.
