Back when Nelson sold weed from the back of his car, competition was fierce.
He was one of the 25 people who sold cannabis in the area.
This was a time when all sellers protected their client lists and territory jealousy. He even carried a gun at the time, just because he was fearful of the other dealers! It was a jungle back then and only the toughest survived in the land with no clear weed legalization. Thanks to saving up money in his weed-dealing years, and finding an investing partner, Nelson is now the supervisor of a local, legal cannabis shop. He expects the competition to be just as fierce as his earlier years, but he has also found that the other cannabis shop owners are more polite & respectful. This isn’t a criminal enterprise anymore, but is a legit business! Cannabis may be the main inventory of choice, but it’s considered a commodity like any other so the vendors get along quite well. In fact, Nelson and his friends have learned that by working together and not against each other, all of their cannabis shops are prospering. Over the Summer they are collectively going to sponsor a Cannabis Festival in the downtown area. All cannabis dispensaries will be represented in booths or tents, but they are also going to have bands playing live music throughout the weekend. Additionally, there will be food trucks, prizes and unique giveaways, as well as free samples of current cannabis products. However, it is clear that none of the local cannabis dispensaries could have done this alone. Working together should be considered profitable for all participants! Nelson welcomes all interested to the Cannabis Fest later this summer.
