Before putting the dispensary timekeeping software on the PCs, my company was losing currency. People could write in their times plus I was seeing there were fewer people on shifts than were penciled in for those times, this was happening in the day plus the afternoon, i couldn’t debate with the employees if they were actually working, because I wasn’t in the dispensary all the time. I had floor supervisors, but they were also working. I knew there had to be an easier way to track the employees’ time, other than trusting them to sign in plus out on the sheet in the office. When I was introduced to dispensary timekeeping software, my job got easier. There were no sign-in sheets, plus most people was responsible for themselves. I called a meeting plus told most people about the dispensary timekeeping software plus said this was no longer the honor system. I would go strictly by the hours that were in the dispensary timekeeping software, plus nothing more. The supervisors weren’t privy to the password to that system, so they couldnn’t change the times for the employees. If you wanted paid, you needed to use the dispensary timekeeping software. If you didn’t want to use the dispensary timekeeping software, you didn’t want a job. I knew the employees didn’t like the new rules about timekeeping, however I had to do something. I was losing currency, plus would need to sit people off if they didn’t follow the program. When they learn to take responsibility, I will slack off a bit, but not until then.
