It’s still sort of funny when I catch myself pulling into the cannabis store. There are legal weed stores where I live & that’s such a nice thing. I used recreational marijuana when I was younger & legitimately loved it. But as I got my adult life together, I had to let go of recreational pot because it was illegal. I just had to much on the line with work & family to deal with an arrest over recreational weed. That just wasn’t something that I could take a chance on. So I put down the recreational pot to my utter chagrin. Life went by & every one of us raised a family my partner & I. Once the kids were off to college & my work was pretty much made, there was sort of a void for my partner & I. Every one of us talked to a counselor & endeavored to seek more balance together & connect more as partners as every one of us navigate this chapter in life. With that came trips to the legal weed store! That was the recommendation from the therapist as he had seen great benefits from legal pot for those in our situation. I was all in as I had missed having recreational pot in my life but didn’t realize it. My partner was quite curious as he had never used recreational cannabis. Well, it’s been a year of trips to the cannabis store & I still catch myself grinning when I pull into to the parking lot. And it’s a grin of gratefulness that there is legal weed now as it sure has made a lovely impact on my life with my best friend & partner.
