I told them not to worry because I was going to follow all of their rules.
That was absolutely not the truth. While I was telling my parents that I was going to follow the rules, I was also making plans for my friends to arrive with plenty of beer and alcohol. I invited a dozen people to the party and a couple of people from school showed up that I did not invite. One of those people had a marijuana joint. They were going to smoke the marijuana joint in the living room and I told them to go outside. They ended up downstairs in the basement where my room is located. When the party was over, I could not get the smell of marijuana out of my room. I knew that I was going to be completely busted if I didn’t figure out a way to get the smell of marijuana out of the house. I called a cleaning lady and I used all of my birthday money to get someone in the house to deodorize and disinfect. I paid $250 for the cleaning service and they still did not get the smell of marijuana out of the house. As soon as my mom came through the doors, she smelled the marijuana. She didn’t even bother waiting to see if I was going to come up with an explanation. She knew that I was caught and it was better for me to stay quiet instead of making things a lot worse.
