When I moved for work, I had to leave a city where I had a lot of friends previously.

I was taken out of a comfort zone for the first time in years, and I wasn’t exactly sure how to move forward.

It made a lot of sense to me at the time to just hang out with my coworkers at my new job. However, the coworkers at that job didn’t share much in common with me at the time. Everybody wanted to go drinking after work and I prefer to use cannabis from the start. Unfortunately, there weren’t places to go smoking cannabis in public and there still aren’t in the state. On top of that, I don’t think any of my coworkers are really cannabis people. If they are, they’re all keeping it to themselves and they don’t talk about it at work. I don’t want to be the one person who says something if the rest of them don’t smoke so I keep my mouth shut as well. I just need to find some friends that also use medical cannabis like I do. I have had a medical marijuana card in the state for years and it’s only been recently that I had to quit hanging out with people who also use cannabis. It’s just hard trying to find friends who use marijuana without outing yourself to someone who might judge you for it. Maybe I need to just toughen up and start asking people right away when I think about it. There’s no other way to find out if other people are medical marijuana patients as well.
