My sister had been using medical marijuana for three years, and I couldn’t believe the difference it had made in her life. She had severe epilepsy, but I hadn’t seen her have a single seizure in almost three months. She occasionally had a seizure, but their severity had lessened, and it is one seizure once a month, and not more than twenty or thirty a day, like it was. Medical marijuana had done amazing things for my sister, which is why I was angry at my mom. I told my mom I was taking my sister to the medical marijuana dispensary and mom threw a hissy fit. She told me medical marijuana should have never been legalized. I couldn’t believe what she was saying. My sister lived with her. Would she rather watch my sister in agony than see her having a normal life? I asked if she meant it when she said medical marijuana should have never been legalized? She just looked at me and told me she didn’t mince her words. My sister was in tears. She reminded mom that without medical marijuana she probably wouldn’t be alive right now. Mom just looked at her, and said that she would still be home and not out gallivanting with me all the time. I was her daughter, and this was my sister. I was getting angrier by the minutes. My sister cried harder and I told her to go to the car. Mom was being selfish because she didn’t have my sister to baby all the time, but my sister needed a life. Thanks to medical marijuana, that was given to her.
